Programs I Offer
Murals
This has also been popular in some of the larger societies in the country. It is great for the office area as well as the public areas.
How it works is this:
I come to your location, and paint a mural of animal(s) of your choice, on the wall/ceiling/floor of your choice. Murals can be of single animals, multiple animals, animals and keepers, ect. I can work in a few different styles from realistic, to whimsy, and the choice is your completely. These make great focus areas from new exhibits, and promotions. You can also have the murals turned into billboards to help promote your zoo/society.
Please get in contact with me to discuss the options and prices.
Signed and Numbered Reproductions
This opportunity has been very popular among some of the larger zoos in the country.
The way it works is this:
You (the society) have an animal whose image you would like to use to help promote your zoo, and/or society, or would like to pick an existing image that I have done to promote the zoo/society. You then get in contact with me to discuss what animal, what type of image, ect. I do the image, and you(the society) have the final ok. We then take the image to the printer (if you have a printer willing to donate the printing that is fine too!) and have he image printed along with any other information you would like on the printing. (Print runs can go from 50 to 2500) I oversee the printing process to make sure it is up to quality standards. I sign and number the reproductions, and you (the society) get 80% of the reproductions to use however you wish for fund raising.
- Typically, they are used as items for sale in the gift shops, used as a stand alone promotion for members to gain additional support, raffle itmes at yearly functions and fund raising events, and as thank you gifts for those members wishing to become members at the higher levels.
If you wish, I can even do the signing and numbering at one of your functions to draw extra attention and local press coverage.
Your options are completely open for tailoring this to fit your needs exactly. I will help out in whatever way I can, as animals hold a very dear place in my heart. Please get in contact with me to discuss the options and prices.
Artist's Workshops/Educational Opportunities
We can turn the above programs into this one as well, or we can offer educational opportunities by themselves. This is a wonderful option to get the schools in your area involved in your zoo/society.
The way it works is this:
I come to your zoo/society and offer a workshop in any of the mediums that you choose. (pen & ink, watercolour, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, or mural painting) I can handle a group of about 35 adults, and about 50 children if they have a few adults with them to help out with supervision. This is a great opportunity for a class of children to not only learn about your zoo/society, but for them to become more interested in the animals and animal welfare, as I cover not only information about how to create art of animals, but also about the animals themselves, and their care and well being. I also encourage the zoo to provide a docient (if avalable) to offer a quick information session.
I originally offered this option as a children only option, but after numerous requests, decided to offer it as an adult option as well, and have had an overwhelming success with it, as there are not many other opportunities out there like this one. It is a great tool for Arts groups, Women's organizations, Clubs, Church groups, local Environmental Club chapters, and other social groups.
I can be available from 1 day to 1 week at a time, and can have up to 2 classes a day, but have found that 1 class for 6 hours is optimal for adults with a break for lunch, as the participants get the most from this. Children's classes work better in 1-2 hour increments, but can last the whole 6 hours with frequent breaks. All workshops are tailormade for the group being served.
- Typically this option is used to help promote the zoo/society to schools and their parents, but has also been successful in promotion of the society/zoo to arts groups, and other adult organizations, including women's groups. It has also been a great add on incentive for those members wishing to donate a little more in order to receive a great opportunity.
Please get in contact with me to discuss the options, scheduling and prices.
